Sixth Renewed Moon of 2026-2027 (August/September)
It’s hard to determine the dates for the Holy Days until the new moon is sighted. The new moon for the sixth biblical month was sightered on August 13, 2026 which makes Friday August 14, 2026 officially the first day of the sixth month.
The sixth biblical month is the month of Elul, a month of repentance prior to the start of the fall Holy Days which occur in the Seventh biblical month.
The new moon for the Seventh biblical month is expected Saturday September 12, 2026 with a 3% illumination. If it is sighted on that day Sunday September 13, 2026 will be the first day of the 7th Biblical month. If it isn’t sighted until the 14th then the dates will shift one day ahead.
Trumpets ( Yom Teru’ah ) expected September 13, 2026 First day of the 7th biblical month. Yom Teruah is the first fall Holy Day. Teruah means to make a loud noise, which is why Yom Teruah is also called the “Day of Trumpets” or even “Day of Shouting.”
Day of Atonement ( Yom Kippur ) expected September 22, 2026 10th day of the 7th month. Leviticus 16:29 mandates establishment of this holy day on the 10th day of the 7th month as the day of atonement for sins. It calls it the Sabbath of Sabbaths and a day upon which one must afflict one’s soul.
Tabernacles ( Sukkot or Booths) expected September 27, 2026 The 15th day of the 7th biblical month. September 27 – October 5, 2026 Sukkot has a dual significance. The Book of Exodus mentions that it is an agricultural in nature—”Feast of Ingathering at the year’s end” (Exodus 34:22)—and marks the end of the harvest time and thus of the agricultural year in the Land of Israel. The more elaborate religious significance from the Book of Leviticus is that of commemorating the Exodus and the dependence of the People of Israel on the will of Elohim (Leviticus 23:42-43).

Some people follow other calendars that are not biblical. To get the right dates we have to follow the days and times scripture presents. Some people follow the Hillel calendar which is not in line with scripture.
